New features of Infor SunSystems 6.3

Infor SunSystems 6.3 is now available and contains the following enhancements, many of them available free of charge to customers with valid maintenance contracts. What is new in SunSystems 6.3?

This new module is fully integrated with existing purchase order processing. It completes the purchasing process in SunSystems. A Requisitioning user may be a full SunSystems user or a restricted user with access only to requisitioning functionality. In most organisations there are many users who participate in requisition processes who do not require full access to financial modules.

New functions in this module include:

Requisition Entry to create and submit requisitions for approval
Requisition Work Queue
Requisition Inquiry for reporting on requisition status and details
→ Soft Commitment Budget Check to query available budget and perform soft commitment budget checking for requisitions
Requisition Import and Export to import and export requisition details through Transfer Desk
Email Notification to users of approval and rejection of requisitions

Version 6.3 provides a new customisable Home Page in both Infor SunSystems and Infor Ming.le.  A collection of home-page widgets allows users to choose links to favourite functions, reports, and records, in order to speed up daily tasks and navigation. In addition, financial reports from BI have been included to allow additional information on accounts and periods to be presented.

In addition to Daily and Period Rates you may now define Currency Rate Types.  These enable you to define additional sets of rates that can be used for specific purposes.  These do not affect default rates, but enable additional rates to be defined for use with specific functions or Journal Types.  You may define any number of Currency Rate Types and define when and where they are to be used.

A new ‘Draft’ status has been introduced for static data together with an approval process.

Previously Withholding Tax was provided as a separate module and was limited to a single user.  It is now incorporated into the core product and is not restricted to a single user application.

When you synchronise a business unit you may now tag multiple rows and select the functions that you want to apply in bulk. You can also see where reference data are used so that you can choose appropriate actions. From business unit administration you may now access database utilities that help you manage business units.  For example, the business unit linking functionality.
